mufin teams up with Synovate in Kenya
mufin's music identification technology audioid licensed to Synovate for ad monitoring at radio broadcast stations
Berlin, 20th October 2010 - mufin, developer of innovative technologies within the fields of music identification and music recommendation, cooperates with Synovate, the global research company, in the range of automatic recognition and identification of radio advertisements in Kenya for the project AdCheck.
The mufin audioid technology enables automatic matching of audio material against a reference data base within seconds which secures real-time monitoring and reporting of scheduled commercial breaks at radio broadcasting stations.
The Radio Monitoring Suite as provided by mufin consists of mufin audioid technology for identifying and monitoring audio signals as well as the seemlessly integrated reporting tool purposely built by the Australian company Fairfax to add to the audioid technology allowing an exact and substantial reporting and analysis of the indentification results.
„The advertising sector in Africa becomes more and more attractive. Many companies are aware of the large market's potential and want to invest in ad campaigns. Clearly, those investors need to be able to easily and efficiently check their booked campaigns. Although automatic tracking systems have not yet penetrated the African market, there is definitely a great need for them", Boris Löhe, president of mufin, comments on.

Following the implementation of the audioid technology for monitoring radio broadcasting stations in Kenya, the aim is to further progress into ten other African countries, including Mozambique, Uganda, Tansania, Ghana and Sambia, within the next two years.
Synovate has operated as a monitoring service in Africa since 1984, starting off with one TV station and two radio services. They now monitor more than 360 media brands across six African countries.
