AudioID – A new realm of possibilities

The fields of applications for the AudioID technology are vast. We have customers using AudioID in the applications we list below, but nothing prevents you from helping us add to the list. mufin and the Fraunhofer Institute are also continuously developing additional applications, including embedded software, that use the basics of AudioID to continue enlarging the realm of possibilities.

Music Recognition & Sales

mufin technology provides access to large pools of audio content by automatically identifying pieces of music via network capable CE devices & satellite-connected car stereos, PCs, mobile phones or similar devices. Only a few seconds of a music recording are sufficient for successfully locating the respective song and providing additional meta data, such as title, artist, label, or information on where you can order it. The technology allows consumers to tag music even using small hand-held devices and thus is well-suited to stimulate music sales anywhere and any time.

Linking to Metadata

Today most of the music distributed is provided either without or with only vague additional information about the content (metadata).

mufin technology helps to automatically link metadata from a database to a specific piece of music and thus represents a universal solution for all types of audio formats. The technology will cover all platforms, i.e. Symbian, Java, Linux, MacOS, WinOS and several embedded proprietary operating systems. This means 100% consistent meta data for the digital music of the future – anywhere.

Your specifications are met not only by our in-house R&D resources, but also by the know-how of our enowned business development partner, the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology.

Broadcast Monitoring

mufin technology allows one to automatically trace and analyze audio streams in real-time. By continuously monitoring radio broadcasts and identifying songs, advertisements or other pieces of information transmitted therein, mufin technology serves as the basis for new content-based billing models in the broadcasting market.

Content Protection

mufin technology will be an alternative approach to copy protection of or conditional access to music and is considerably less prone to tampering than watermarking techniques.

Furthermore, the audio quality is not compromised as it is with watermarking.
